Moody Winter redwoods engagement

Prairie Creek

There are a million reasons for planning a redwoods engagement session. The first and most obvious reason being the ridiculously epic redwood trees. You will never do them justice in a photograph but that awestruck feeling trickles into every image. A winter redwoods engagement session might sound strange but trust me when I say the off season is a spectacular time to adventure into the big trees.

There’s something magical about integrating your love story with a fairytale forest. The year round beauty of the redwood forest is another great reason. If you are comfortable with a little (or a lot) of drizzle, winter in the redwoods is an experience you don’t want to miss. You don’t actually have to be wildly adventurous, you just have to come prepared for the elements. Layers are your friend!  Cute umbrellas don’t hurt either.

I am always stoked to work with couples who want engagement photos in a meaningful location. Though they were planning a wedding back home, Natalie always knew that she wanted redwoods engagement photos as she still has family in the Eureka area. Prairie Creek Redwoods in Redwood National Park offers not only breathtaking redwood trees but miles of fairly even trails, making the park accessible and rarely over crowded.
