Bay Area Elopement

married at SF city hall

The first wedding my son attended outside of the womb was this Bay Area elopement for two dear friends of ours. True to all things familial and photography related, I am just now getting around to properly sharing these images.

San Francisco topped the list of Erin and Kevin’s favorite cities to visit so a low key elopement at City Hall fit their vision perfectly. Tacos were the second must have, the churros in place of wedding cake genius may or may not have been inspired by the margaritas.

Ceremony location: San Francisco City Hall

Wedding Rings: Catbird NYC, Etsy

Hotel: Hotel Carlton

Tacos: Tacolicious

Florals: Farm Girl FLowers

What to know about getting married at San Francisco City Hall

Best time for your SF CIty Hall Ceremony

SF City Hall is a very busy place. Odds are ever in your favor that those epic photos of quiet rotundas and empty staircases have been heavily edited to remove the crowds. To increase your chances of a low traffic experience, schedule your ceremony in the first or last available time slots.

Pick Your City Hall Wedding Package

If you are looking for a quick, no frills ceremony with a bustling backdrop of fellow marriers and their entourages, a civil marriage ceremony is the option for you. Couples who want a customized SF City Hall wedding experience with guests can book a One Hour, Two Hour or Evening wedding package.

planning your elopement timeline

While your marriage ceremony will be brief, you will want to allow plenty of time to wander through the space. The building feels like a large museum so account for stair climbing and balcony exploration.
