Kameko & Dan’s Oyster Beach elopement was a happy convergence of circumstance and genius planning. The two had initially planned to say their vows in a redwood grove… but Humboldt winter storms had other ideas! Fortunately, they had the foresight to book a stay at Oyster Beach and held the ceremony in the living room while the rain provided accompaniment.

The rain subsided in time for a blustery portrait session on the beach and a little bit of puddle jumping. In case you were curious, I am adept at carrying three umbrellas and all of my gear at the same time. While 8 months pregnant. As this was the last wedding I shot before my son was born and dude definitely had news anchor hair on the ultrasounds, there were plenty of weather reports from Duck Donaldson.

The Humboldt Bay Social Club is an absolute Humboldt gem. Thoughtfully designed and located on a still active air strip just a minute or two from great beach wandering. Oh, and the lobby bar is kid friendly, pet friendly and cocktail magic. The perfect place to take refuge in a winter storm!
