Lost Whale Inn: Best Humboldt Wedding Venues

If you want to get married in a garden oasis overlooking the ocean, the Lost Whale Inn is your Northern California wedding venue. Located a few minutes from Suemeg State Park in Trinidad, California, the Lost Whale manages to be both comfortable and jaw dropping at the same time. With views for days, a fire pit and an outdoor hot tub, the Inn is an ideal location for intimate weddings with a guest list of less than 75 people.
History
The earliest incarnation of the Inn was as Anderson’s Cafe and Service Station in the 1920s. The present-day version was built in 1989 by screenwriter and producer, Rita Lakin and designed by award-winning local architect Ray Wolf. Contrary to the vintage, favorite old house feeling, extra-thick walls and sound proofing ensure complete privacy. Each room has unique design elements including lofts, balconies, and alcoves.

First Rate Hospitality
Whether you’re envisioning an intimate dinner party or a dance party on the lawn, the event managers at the Lost Whale are top notch. They care deeply about the guest experience for every person that sets foot on the property (including the vendors) and it truly creates the most welcoming atmosphere for everyone present.

Wedding Accommodations
The Inn makes a great home base for your wedding party and/or immediate family. For a more expansive out of town guest list, there are numerous hotels, motels, Airbnbs and even a Holiday Inn (see what I did there) if you really want that authentic early 80s meets a 2000s club feel. I’m guessing that you’re probably okay without that though.
